Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to join our team, specialising in Public Sector Services (PSS). The Senior Salesforce Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex Salesforce solutions tailored to meet the specific requirements of public sector clients. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of Salesforce development, customization, and integration, as well as strong problem-solving and leadership skills.This is an important role that will contribute to the ongoing uplift of the data-driven capability through identification and utilisation of best practice analysis and engagement approaches in delivery of services and work products.

Solution Design and Development

  • Collaborate with public sector business stakeholders and architects to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with PSS standards and regulations.
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and maintainable Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and other Salesforce technologies, ensuring compliance with PSS guidelines.
  • Implement customizations and configurations to meet public sector business needs, including custom objects, workflows, validation rules, and process automation tailored to PSS requirements.
  • Develop and execute data migration and integration strategies between Salesforce and other public sector systems, adhering to data privacy and security regulations.

Technical Leadership and Mentoring

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to a team of Salesforce developers working on PSS projects.
  • Review and approve technical designs, code, and configuration changes to ensure adherence to PSS standards, coding conventions, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of Salesforce projects within the public sector domain.
  • Assist and support junior developers with technical challenges and provide guidance on best practices specific to PSS implementations.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues related to Salesforce configuration, customization, and integration within the context of public sector services.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure quality and reliability in accordance with PSS requirements.
  • Collaborate with public sector business users and stakeholders to understand and address their unique requirements and concerns.

Technical Documentation and Collaboration:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation tailored to PSS implementations, including design documents, process flows, data models, and release notes.
  • Collaborate with public sector business analysts, architects, and administrators to ensure alignment and consistency in solution design and implementation within PSS frameworks.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other team activities to promote knowledge sharing and adherence to PSS best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest Salesforce features, releases, and industry trends relevant to PSS implementations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and technical debt reduction within the context of public sector services.
  • Drive initiatives to improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of Salesforce solutions in compliance with PSS standards and regulations.

Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development, including customization, configuration, and integration, preferably within the public sector domain.
  • Work closely with public sector clients to gather and analyse business requirements, with a focus on leveraging the capabilities of Public Sector Services Cloud.
  • Design and develop customised solutions on the Salesforce platform using declarative tools and programmatic methods, ensuring alignment with government regulations and compliance standards.
  • Configure Public Sector Services Cloud modules such as License and Permit Management, Inspection Management, Emergency Program Management, , Constituent Management, Grants Management, Contact Center Engagement, Employee Experience for Public Sector and Composable Case Management to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Develop integrations between Public Sector Services Cloud and external systems, including government databases, legacy systems, and third-party applications, using APIs and middleware technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce technologies, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, SOQL, and SOSL, with a strong understanding of PSS guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience with Salesforce APIs, web services, and integration patterns relevant to public sector services.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Public Sector Services Cloud implementations, addressing any issues or enhancements as required.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce & PSS cloud data model, security model, and governor limits, with familiarity in implementing PSS-specific security requirements.
  • Proficiency in front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (Angular, React) is a plus.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I and Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II are preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the context of PSS implementations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the public sector environment.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on delivering successful Salesforce solutions for public sector clients.
